A JOURNEY TO THE PAST
Living the most famous carnival of the world, for me,it was an experience of a life time..
I visited Venice many times, but I was also there at the carnival of 2007..
The city was over crowded and sometimes we could hardy moove, especially when we were crossing the bridges and in some parts of the city..
The atmosphere was fantastic,adorable,almost magical...
Exhibits were erected in St. Mark's square with a stage facing the basilica..
Confetti and streamers were thrown freely and live bands were playing music!!
(I wonder who picked all that confetti..)
People were dancing, singing and they seemed to take part in every event , wearing masks or walking all around the city, beeing in the spirit of the celebration!!
Locals in stunning colorful costumes were very happy and polite and they posed with us to take some photos...We found lots of them around St. Mark's square,Doges'Palace and the area around Riva degli Schiavni...
All participants wore masks of fine work of art.
The Venetians put too much effort into their magnificent masks that 's why there was a great number of shops which were selling genuine masks of the 17th century!!!
I am so happy to have lived and experienced one of the grandest and most sincere celebrations in planet !!
Be a mask or an observer or a photo-hunter!!!!!!
Be a part of Venice!!
