Paros, Greece

PAROS

Paros is one of the most popular islands in Greece, attracting thousands of visitors every summer. It is famous for its beautiful beaches, the traditional architecture and the nightlife .... and also for its stunning beaches and the Cycladic villages. Naoussa, Lefkes and Parikia are the most picturesque villages in Paros!!

But the most popular beaches to swim are Kolybithres, Golden Beach and Santa Maria...

In Paros on 15 August, spectacular fireworks in Parikia turn night into day because of the feast of Vergin Mary!!(Panagia Ekatontapyliani)

A show not to be missed !!

The Ekatontapiliani church next to the port of Paros in Paroikia, is particularly crowded , as the entire island descend in Parikia. Navy ships also pay their respects to the religious ceremonies.

The feast lasts until the early hours of the morning, with traditional music, Parian wine and local delicacies.
The best place to watch this event is "Evinos bar".On a terrace with an amazing view to the Aegen sea, Evinos is definitely unique. You can drink your drink while listening to nice funk, soul and rock music.

Another amazing bar in Naoussa of Paros is "Salty"!!!!It's a cocktail bar with incredible music, super cocktails and friendly staff!!

For sea food lovers "Barbarossa" is just the place to be...

"Aχινός"(Ahinos) is also a good idea for those who prefer ouzo!!

....or "Umi" for sushi lovers...

If you have time you can visit Antiparos in a day trip..
It is a small paradise island with crystal clear waters, lots of taverns and restaurants and also special boutiques and souvenir shops....

The most famous sight on the small island of Antiparos is its Cave. This natural wonder is full of stalactites and stalagmites with different shapes...and it's worth a visit!!

But before you leave the islands, don't forget to buy some souvenirs to take home and tasty local products..

All the roads lead to Rome

Rome!!

Rome always has the power to surprise...
The best way to see the city is to walk, starting from piazza del Popolo ,where you can enjoy a rich breakfast at Rosati, famous for its tramezzini and sandwiches.

Walk along via Condotti, the most famous street of Rome which is equivalent to Milan's via Montenapoleone,Paris'rue Faubourg Saint Honore or London's Bond street.

Dior,Gucci,Bulgari,Hermes,Louis Vuitton and many other fashion designers have stores on via Condotti....

The most famous cafe in Rome is Cafe Antico Greco . It was established at via dei Condotti 86 in 1760.The place is definitely worth a visit for its history!!
At via delle Vite , Life restaurant will serve you the best pasta with lobster......(you have to make a reservation)

Piazza Della Rotonda where it is located,is a cozy setting for a drink..
rIn Piazza di Spagna ,Bernini's fountain and the church of Trinita dei Monti create an eighteenth century atmosphere.. At Hotel Hassler,Imago, the Hassler's panoramic restaurant,is the perfect setting for your events while in Rome..

Pantheon is open daily and is known for its perfect proportions.
Piazza Navona is surrounded by open air cafes. It's full of painters and street performers which make it one of Roman's famous Piazzas ,but also you have to get lost at the narrow streets at the left of piazza Navona to admire the beauty of the real Ancient Rome ..
If you are looking for the best espresso in Rome,I would suggest Sant'Eustachio cafe, without hesitation!! It's an ancient coffee shop located in the old town centre of Rome at the back of Pantheon..

If you feel tired, you can take an appetitive at piazza delle Pace ,a small square just off piazza Navona. It is known for the artists, writers and show business people that visit it..

For pizza lovers ,pizzeria Baffetto in via del Governo Vecchio 114,just steps across piazza Navona.
Trastevere is one of the most beautiful and scenic neighborhoods of Rome ,with nightlife. There are lots of trattorias, nightclubs and pizzerias..
The best pizza ever!!!!!

As for ice cream....don't go elsewhere but at Giolitti!!!!!!

Colosseum and piazza Venezia are nearby at the end of via dei Fori Imperiali and the first impression is remarkable!!

Vatican is the smallest state in the world by both area and population.Within Vatican City are religious and cultural sites such as St.Peter's Basilica, the Sistine Chapel and the Vatican museums where there are some of the world 's most famous paintings and sculptures!!

I couldn't end this post without a reference to via Veneto, one of the most famous, elegant and expensive streets of Rome!!
In the 1950s and 60s via Veneto became internationally famous as the centre of dolce vita (the sweet life) , when its bars and restaurants attracted Hollywood stars and jet setters, such as Audrey Hepburn, Anita Ekberg, Gary Cooper,Coco Chanel etc....
