English Afternoon Tea

At the 24th of November 2016,I was invited to a very special event that took place in Thessaloniki,at the Canteen bar restaurant,in support of a good cause and it was organized by Thermaides!!

Great people supporting an even greater cause!!

Aim of the event was to collect a sufficient amount of money in order to finance the children's cardiological clinic at the general hospital AHEPA.

The amazing evening consisted of English tea and Christmas champagne cocktail with delicious hor d'oeuvres and desserts..

 

The entertainment was fantastic,as Christmas songs and carols were played live by a band with violins..

Many congratulations to the organizers and the sponsors!!!

CARRIBEAN CRUISE

 It's better in the Bahamas

I booked a cruise to the Carribean islands as a short getaway during my bussiness trip in Florida.This was my first cruise on Royal Carribean,5th cruise over all..

It was a relaxing escape..

The ship looked relatively new,offering a large pool deck,a champagne bar,glass enclosed elevetors etc..I had an ocean view cabin which was comfortable and fairly modern.

During the cruise there was one formal dinning night ...

Most women wore coctail dresses or gowns while men wore suits.

The food on the ship was excellent!! So was the entertainment either. I really enjoyed the reggae music!!!!

I was worried about the weather conditions and scared about the big waves but it was ok..

We arrived at NASSAU HARBOR and we were ready to explore the paradise island!!

Nassau is the capital of Bahamas which bustles with traffic.Tourists from around the world flock here to relax in the worm,tropical climate.

NASSAU'S CABLE BEACH has the feeling of a classic Carribean beach with its soft white sand and turquoise waters.It's also safe for swimming.

Paradise island is connected to the mainland by two bridges.Besides the water park of Atlantis resort ,you can see prime attractions .

Marina village with the luxury shops,restaurants,yachts etc is a 'must' see!!

I climbed the step staircase,known as Queen's staircase to Fort Fincastle,the highest point on the island which affords panoramic views of the Nassau and the ocean beyond..

-Senor Frogs is a 'must' when cruising in the Bahamas!!

Enjoy the crazy decorations and furniture in a funny atmosphere.I loved the vibe and the enthusiasm of the entertaintment staff.

The next cruise stop was at COCO CAY which is a colorful Royal Carribean's private island.

Its beaches are so beautiful with indescribable sea color,calm and warm crystal clear waters,palm trees with hummocks and white poudre sand.

The island is small.I  gave a complete turn in less than an hour.

Each beach has a feature.

THE BAREFOOT BEACH is ideal for those who want to relax in a tropical ambience..

In SNORKEL BEACH you can enjoy snorkeling and scuba diving..

WATER SPORTS BEACH is  better for water sports lovers..

COCONUT WILLY'S BEACH is super for children..
The food on the island is released and there are bars with Carribean coctails and drinks..

-Try the famous coco loco coctail ..

After a quick 3 days getaway from stress, this was a great experience to remember for a lifetime!!

Can't wait to travel to Carribean sea again and visit the rest of Carribean islands!!!!!!

Brugges

 The fairytale town

The world is an amazing place and I try to explore this beauty..

One of my favorite travel destinations is Brugge.

Cobblestone streets that lead to historical and architectural buildings!!

With narrow streets,marvel houses,canals, bridges and lakes with swans, the atmosphere is peaceful and scenic!!

If you visit the town at Christmas time.....you'll feel like living in a fairytale!!

Brugges is home to great food,offering many dreamy restaurants with high quality food.

I truly enjoyed the mussels cooked-in with white wine and vegetables.Fries are also part of Belgian culinary and cultural heritage... as well as Belgian beer.

It's a classic dish , famous throughout the world!!

There are a lot of chocolate and waffle shops,selling the best chocolate I 've ever eaten !!

THE BASILICA OF THE HOLY BLOOD 

is a church in a quite place with impressive architecture,famous because it holds a piece of Jesus Christ's clothing with a blood stain...

THE MARKT

 is a large square with overpriced and touristic restaurants.

As soon as the sun goes down ,the town gets a  different,more romantic appearance!!!

TIPS

-Find late-night bars,hidden away in the back streets.

-Don't miss to try the 5cm thic slabs of chocolate and also a piece of white chocolate.

-Have a horse-drawn carriage trip around the town or a boat trip along the canals.

-Most Brugges museums and attractions,close on Mondays.

-French,German and English are spoken everywhere.

-Get lost at the narrow streets.
